In kindergarten they called me “the child of Perestroika”. I did not understand at that time what the whole Perestroika means, but every day I saw the things that remained from that mysterious time that would never come back. The people around were embarrassed by those things, they tried to change their attitude towards those things, they swore, but always came back to those things. While it seems that these same people have achieved what they aspired, why do they seek these things from the “socialist past” more and more often? What do they want to find in these simple old things? They seek not for the truth, neither for their youth. It is the trembling feeling of being useful they search for. What else can cure their loneliness?
